Mark Duffell
Chief Executive Officer Mark previously served as President & COO of Epicor Software Corporation, driving 39% compounded growth in revenue while achieving record levels of profitability. Epicor Software grew, during Mark’s 12 year tenure, into a global leader providing customer relationship management and enterprise resource planning solutions to the mid-market and divisions of Global 1000 companies. Over 26 years as a senior executive, he has led every function within a software business, including worldwide sales and marketing, strategic planning, international operations, development and support. Prior to Epicor, Mark held executive positions at Frame Technology Corporation. Mr. Duffell worked with Accel-KKR as their Operational Advisor for the purchase and privatization of KANA Software. Mark received his First Class Honours Degree in Production Engineering from Kingston University in England.
Mark Angel
Chief Technology Officer Mark Angel has worked in the fields of customer service software, knowledge management, and search technology development for more than two decades. As CTO, Mr. Angel is responsible for KANA’s technology vision and the development of the company’s next-generation customer service platform, and is also closely involved with strategic M&A activities. He oversees product management, product development, documentation, and quality assurance. Before joining KANA, he served as CTO of KNOVA Software Inc., now a division of Consona Corporation. Prior to KNOVA, Mr. Angel founded Kanisa, where he served as CEO and helped develop a knowledge management and search platform driven by several patent-pending innovations. Mr. Angel studied economics at the University of Chicago and was a recipient of the Truman Scholarship.
Jay Jones
Chief Administrative Officer and Chief Financial Officer As Chief Administrative Officer and Chief Financial Officer Mr. Jones is responsible for overseeing KANA’s Finance, accounting, general counsel’s office, human resources, information technology, and overall business operations. Mr. Jones has over 20 years experience in leading software companies business operations. He served as Senior Vice President, Operations and CIO of VERITAS. Mr. Jones also served as VERITAS’ Chief Administrative Officer, the role he held at Open Vision prior to Open Vision’s merger with VERITAS. During his tenure at VERITAS, Mr. Jones led the company’s operations and administration as it grew from $80 million to over $2 billion in annual revenues by the time it was acquired by Symantec in 2005. Prior to Open Vision, Mr. Jones was Senior Corporate Counsel for Oracle Corporation. Mr. Jones holds a B.S. in Architecture from Howard University; a M.S. in City Planning from the University of California, Berkeley; and a J.D. from the University of California, Berkeley. He is a member of the State Bar of California.
Chad Wolf
Senior Vice President, KANA Global Consulting Services As Senior Vice President of KANA Global Consulting Services, Chad Wolf is responsible for leading KANA’s end-to-end customer service consulting services team. Mr. Wolf has over 13 years of operational and IT experience applying technology solutions for complex business problems as well as deep business process re-engineering and process management expertise. Prior to KANA Mr. Wolf held various leadership positions within Sprint PCS where he coordinated the implementation of enterprise CRM systems across contact center, retail sales, business sales, telesales, and self-service channels. He was formerly a manufacturing engineer for Parker Hannifin Corporation, a Fortune 500 leader in the diversified manufacturing industry. Mr. Wolf holds an M.S. degree in Industrial Engineering and Operations Management from Kansas State University and a B.S. degree in Industrial Engineering.
Chip Greer
Senior Vice President, Worldwide Sales With more than 20 years of experience and success in enterprise software sales management, Chip brings strategic sales innovation, creatively, leadership and execution to KANA. He has a proven track record in strategic sales management contributing to significant revenue growth, which is evident from his most recent role as Vice President and General Manager at FAST Search, (purchased by Microsoft in April 2008) where he contributed to the company’s revenue growth by growing his team from $9 million to $45 million in revenue during his tenure. As Vice President of Sales at Channelwave Software Corporation, Chip led the effort to produce a 300% increase in new license and services revenue. Prior to that as Eastern Vice President of New Business Sales at Epicor Software Corporation he led the growth of his sales team from $5M to $30M while the company as a whole grew from $30 to $200 million. In addition, Chip has also held strategic sales roles at Webhire, Software Plus and ADP. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Marketing from Fairfield University.
Michael Fields
Non-Executive Chairman of the Board With more than 30 years’ management experience at enterprise software companies, Mr. Fields has a track record of leadership at large corporations including Oracle U.S.A, where he served as president; Applied Data Research; and Burroughs Corporation. In addition, he was a founder, chairman, and CEO of OpenVision Technologies which he led to a public offering in 1995 and merger with VERITAS in 1996. Mr. Fields joined KANA in September, 2005. Under his leadership, in 2006 KANA achieved its first annual operating profit in company history. Currently, Mr. Fields serves on the board of directors of Imation Corporation [Nasdaq: IMN] and SWK Holdings [Nasdaq: SWKH]. He began his career in the technology industry in 1965 in the U.S. Air Force. Mr. Fields studied Computer Science at New York State University before joining the U.S. Air Force.
